Requirements for Opening a Merchant Account


There are several things that you need to gather before opening a merchant account in order to make the application process go more smoothly. Here is a list of items that you may need before obtaining a merchant account.

  1. Copy of a Voided Check – Include a copy of a voided check from the bank account that you want your funds deposited into.

  2. Copy of Driver’s License – Make a copy of your driver’s license or a government ID for identity purposes.

  3. Articles of Incorporation or Business license – You will be required to provide documentation in order to prove that your business is legitimate.

  4. Pictures of Business – You may be required to provide pictures of your business location and inventory.

  5. Tax Returns – If your business has a large monthly volume, then you may be required to provider photocopies of past business or personal tax returns.

  6. Business Financials – This may be requested if your business has a large monthly volume.
